This page explains what information Kinship Cafe may receive, why it is used, and what choices you have. The short version: we collect only what is needed to communicate with you, provide the website and community, and process the actions you choose to take.

Information we may receive
Mostly, it is information you choose to share.
Contact messages
When you use the contact form, Kinship Cafe receives your name, email address, subject, message, and anything else you include. Responses are stored in Squarespace Contacts and emailed to Kinship Cafe.
Email subscriptions
The contact form includes an optional, unchecked subscription box. If you choose it, Squarespace records that consent. Kinship Cafe may use Kit to deliver email updates after subscriber information is added to Kit. Sending a contact message alone does not subscribe you.
Contributions and purchases
Website contributions are handled through Squarespace Payments. Kinship Cafe receives transaction and donor records but does not receive or store your full payment-card number. Purchases made through booksellers are governed by those sellers’ practices.
Website and community activity
Squarespace may collect cookies, security information, and basic site-usage data. If you join the community, Skool processes your profile, posts, event activity, Classroom progress, and any optional supporting membership you choose.
How information is used
To provide what you asked for—and maintain the places where it happens.
Answer messages, questions, and practical requests.
Send email updates only when you have chosen to receive them.
Process contributions, community requests, and other actions you initiate.
Operate the website, understand its use, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations.
Services involved
Kinship Cafe does not do all of this alone.
Outside services help host the website, process contributions, deliver email, and provide the online community. When you use one of these services, its own privacy policy and terms also apply.
Squarespace
Hosts this website, the contact form, Squarespace Contacts, website contributions, security tools, cookies, and site analytics.
Kit
May be used to maintain the Kinship Cafe email list and deliver optional email updates, including unsubscribe requests.
Skool
Hosts the private community, member profiles, discussions, events, Classroom content, progress information, and optional supporting tiers.
Links to booksellers, payment providers, or other outside websites take you to services Kinship Cafe does not control. Their privacy practices apply once you leave this site.
Your choices
You remain in control of the relationship.
You can choose not to submit optional information. Some information may still be necessary to answer a message, process a contribution, or provide a service you request.
- Unsubscribe using the link in any Kinship Cafe email.
- Adjust cookies through the site banner or your browser, where available.
- Ask Kinship Cafe to correct or delete information held directly by Kinship Cafe, subject to legal and operational requirements.
- Manage information held by Skool, Kit, Squarespace, or another provider through that service’s account and privacy tools.
Retention
Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed.
Kinship Cafe may retain information while it is needed to provide a requested service, maintain appropriate records, resolve a concern, protect the community, or meet legal obligations.
Security
Reasonable care, without impossible promises.
Kinship Cafe and its service providers use safeguards intended to protect information. No website, email system, payment system, or online community can guarantee absolute security.
